Enhanced Beer SpoilerAlert™ Assay Detection
Beer SpoilerAlert™ assay has a built-in 3x9 detection array for a total of 27 probe locations. There are 6 probe spots set aside for process and amplification controls for each sample. The remaining 21 target capture probes behave as follows:
- Unique to a specific primer target
- Saccharomyces cerevisiae variant diastaticus
- Hop resistance genes (horA, horC, bsrA, bsrB)
- Combine in a fingerprint to allow for speciation of a genus
- Brettanomyces: bruxellensis, B. acidodurans, B. anomalus, B. custersianus, and B. naardenensis
- Identify all members of a genus without distinction
- Pediococcus: claussenii, P. damnosus, P. inopinatus, P. acidilactici, P. cellicola, P. parvulus, P. pentosaceus, and P. stilesii
- Megasphaera: cerevisiae, M. elsdenii, M. paucivorans, M. sueciensis
- Pectinatus: cerevisiiphilus, P. frisingensis, P. haikarae
- Identify individual subsets of a genus
